  • What should I bring for a Transpac sailing adventure with Sailing Catamaran Adventures?
    Closed-Toe Deck Shoes (no flip-flops allowed on deck) Sandals (for the beach) Hat (Sun Protection) Sunglasses Sunscreen Personal Medication Headlamp (with both red & white lights) Watch (To keep time on deck) Toiletries (toothpaste, lotions, contact lenses & solution, etc.) Reusable Water Bottle (minimum 16oz) Reading Material Underwear (as much as you need for the duration of the trip) Warm Socks (wool recommended) x3-4 Long Underwear (wool recommended) x1-2 Warm Mid Layer Top (fleece/down) x1-2 Warm Mid Layer Bottom (fleece) x1-2 - Warm Hat x1 Warm Gloves (Gore-tex/waterproof recommended) x1 Pants (we like quick-dry hiking pants, jeans dry too slowly) x 1-2 T-shirts x 2-3 Long Sleeved Shirt (sun protection, warmth) x 1-2 Shorts x 2-3 Swimwear x1 Waterproof sailing boots x1 Passports, Visas (If needed) two forms of ID (Passports/Visas/ID must be valid and ledgible)
  • What is Included? (Transpac)
    Sailing Certifications (ASA)/(NauticEd) (Depending on participating affiliated schools) Sailing Education Offshore Weather Training & Tactics Provisioning (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and Drinks ) Personal Queen Cabin with Private Bath & Shower (5 available) Bedding (Sheets, Blankets, Pillows) Towels (Bath, Face, and Beach) Safety Equipment (PFDs Alarm Bracelets, Personal Locator Devices) Sextant Masks, Snorkels, and Fins STARLINK (Internet, Netflix) Unlimited (Work from the boat on your time off) Transportation to and from the local airport. Extra nights onboard (if the timing between passages permits) (For TRANSPAC 26 & 42)
  • What Can I Expect In A Transpac?
    Sailing as a team (Always minimum two-person sailing watches) Raising and lowering sails. Routine vessel checks while on watch. Stand watch ( A watch is either at the helm steering or lookout for other vessels, land, sea life, etc... All watches are in three-hour increments with a max of two per day. A licensed USCG Captain/Sailing instructor will always be on one of the watches with you. Cleaning and tidying up the vessel as we go. Aiding in the preparation of meals and cleaning up afterward. Sing-alongs (It always happens) On-going classes, learning to navigate by traditional means with a sextant or more modern ways using AI technology. LEARNING LEARNING LEARNING
  • What Will We Do During Layovers And Stops?
    Before any departure or arrival, the vessel will be made ready. Provisioning Fueling & Refueling Nights of the vessel (Dinner, Walks, and Sightseeing) Exploring the islands (Layovers & Arrivals) Customs checks (If Required) Medical emergencies (Out of our Control) Offloading and boarding of clients along the way.
